Upwork Freelancer Plus plan new price $14.99 per month

Upwork wrote to tell their Freelancers about an upcoming change to Upwork’s Connects pricing and Terms of Service.

They said, starting in May, the Freelancer Plus plan will increase in price to $14.99 per month. Few more changes in brief:

The plan will continue to include 70 Connects but if one wishes to purchase more, they will be available at a highly reduced cost of $0.15 each (this is also the new Connects price for freelancers not on Plus).
One will need between 1 and 6 Connects as per new rule, depending on the job, to submit a proposal.
Proposals submitted for invitations you receive from clients will continue to be free.

Why is Upwork making this change?

Upwork want to help professional freelancers like you win more jobs. With paid Connects, and they expect freelancers will submit fewer proposals, increasing one’s likelihood of winning projects and making it easier for clients to identify high-quality talent.

What does this mean for a Freelancer?

This change will take effect between May and June. Upwork will follow up with a reminder.
On the Freelancer Plus member’s next billing date after the change, the Freelancer Plus plan will be billed at $14.99 per month.
As before, one can keep any unused Connects in one’s account, up to 140.

Upwork said that they understand that this is a big change but they feel this is the best way to create more opportunities for one through Upwork in the long term. I don’t know what will the new Freelancers do like me! I am paying for more than 3 months on Upwork, but still, I didn’t get any job. But I have experience, and I am working on Fiverr. I am selling Search Engine Optimization Service, Social Media Management service there. I am working as a Virtual assistant for an agency in Florida, USA and for Orthodontics of Georgia. But you can see my Upwork Freelance Profile as an SEO Consultant, Data Entry Expert & Virtual Assistant, gave me no benefit yet. I am worried about the price change. I have to think about continuing monthly subscription there. What’s your thought? Feel free to share in the comment box.
